Why a Gooseneck Trailers instead of a Bumper Hitch Trailers?
Friday, May 2nd, 2008There are many opinions on which is better. You can simply search Google to see thousands of results. However, I want to highlight a few things to consider when looking at a goose neck trailer. Gooseneck trailers:
- Eliminate Sway and fishtailing
- Increase storage capacity
- Increase load capacity
- Provide Easier mobility
- Are more secure
While these benifits are nice, there are a few drawbacks to gooseneck trailers. They include:
- Gooseneck trailers generally are more expensive
- Your “start up” cost may be higher if you are not already setup with a gooseneck hitch
- Some feel that connecting to a gooseneck trailer can be more difficult as you have to climb in the bed of your truck to complete the hookup process
- You lose some of your truck bed storage.
